Organic coffee pods are accessible online and in specialty coffee shops and even some supermarkets and even Amazon.com.
Senseo one cup coffee makers are the most well known pod machines but there are many others including AquaBrew Cafejo Black & Decker® Home Cafe Bunn® MyCafe Gevalia Kaffe Pod Brewer Hamilton Beach Single Serve Coffeemaker Juan Valdez Pod Brewing System Krups KP1010 HomeCafe Pod Brewing System Melitta One:One Pod Brewing System (with Universal Pod Holder*) Mr. Coffee® Home Cafe SimpleHuman® Coffee Pod Brewer My wife and I are consumers of fair trade organic coffee because of the many benefits that the small third world farmers get not only in a fair price but also in community infrastructure that benefits the entire community. In addition, small growers have a lot less impact on the environment especially when they grow shade grown small plots of coffee versus the large internationals who have consistently ruined the land and contribute to environmental degradation with their large scale factory farms. In addition, fair trade coffee producers pay the farmers a living wage even when world prices are low while the big multis pay them less than it costs to grow their crop – meaning they not only work hard but also lose money which was meant for their families and communities. And fair trade coffee is much the same price as non fair trade coffee – so we don’t have to sacrifice our budget to feel better about the coffee we drink. We just look around a little harder to find a fair trade blend. Not only do we buy whole bean fair trade coffee that I use in my French Press but also when we use our Keurig Elite which uses K-Cups instead of pods we can get a good selection including my personal favourite Newman’s Own Fair Trade Organic Extra Bold. Just love the taste.
