Starbucks coffee drink recipes

Starbucks coffee drink recipes

Starbucks are pretty keen to keep their coffee drink recipes secret

It is pretty hard to find them online or indeed anywhere.

Here’s one that I found during my research and I hope you enjoy it. My wife loves these frozen milky espresso coffees but she doesn’t like the sugar so we just leave it out.

Starbucks Frappuccino Recipe

2 shots (3 oz.) espresso¼ cup granulated sugar1 tbsp. pectin or 1 tsp. + 1 tsp. arrowroot (gives it a thicker feel in your mouth but you could leave it out.2 ½ cups low-fat milk

Preparation: Stir sugar into espresso; cool it. Stir in milk and pectin until it’s dissolved. Fill a glass with ice and either serve it over ice or blend for 30-45 seconds.

Although I am a big Starbucks fan, I am not a big fan of paying $5.00 for a cup of coffee even if it has a fancy name and tastes pretty good. So using a bit of ingenuity I developed a method of preparing one of these frozen espresso drinks for less using what’s available for free. Don’t tell them over at Starbucks what you are doing. We don’t want everyone to know. LOL!

Want a short cut for a cheaper version when you are at Starbucks. Order a double or single espresso with lots of ice from the barista. Then go over the area where you add your cream and sugar and either add full cream, half and half or milk and them sugar or artificial sweetener. Costs a lot less and tastes pretty darn good.
