I’ve tried a lot of espresso machines including the manual ones that sit on top of your stove.

These may be the very best or at least a lot of people swear by them. I am one of the ones who likes them but sometimes I swear at them. They are like the old expression about a kettle. “A watched kettle never boils.

You put the ground coffee into the chamber that is between the bottom of the machine where you put in the water and the top which has another chamber which holds the finished espresso.

It works pretty well and makes excellent espresso and it never broke.

You can find these in any decent store where they sell coffee machines and they can be under $15.00 if you look hard enough.

However I got tired of my very slow heating electric stove taking so long to heat the water because these things have to be watched to make sure you take them off the burner before you ruin the brew.

In fact these machines known in Italy as moka machines should heat the water at a very low heat so it’s supposed to take a long time – some say up to 10 minutes.

So I stepped up to a faster machine which works very well for me.
