Best single cup coffee maker?
Keurig leads the field as far as sales go with about 60% of the market for these popular new 1 cup coffee brewers but they all have their fans. Keurig’s Elite is the one my wife and I bought and we love it. To be totally frank, I was surprised as to how good the coffee tasted in the Keurig Elite which I picked up on sale for $99.00. I really didn’t expect that it would in any way rival the French Press that I’ve have used for over 30 years to make my morning cup. And it still isn’t quite as good especially with a high quality whole bean ground in my conical burr grinder but for convenience and speed – it wins out and it’s pretty close for taste. I mean essentially the 1 cup machines have taken over from instant coffee as a fast way to get a cup of coffee but they taste way, way better. I’ve tried some of the Starbucks new instant and in their taste test I could tell which was instant right off the bat. And the more of the cup I drank the worse it tasted. So the best 1 cupper?
I chose Keurig and I’m glad I did because they have a lot more blends available of both coffee and tea. I guess because they sell the most but I wouldn’t rule out the others. Well they all make a pretty good cup. Senseo’s machine in my opinion looks the best on a counter top and Tassimo has some nice models as well.
