Bodum French Press
Right Column Bodum French Press? What's a French Press Coffee Maker? Maybe it’s like Kleenex, a generic term for tissue. For many more years that I want to count I made coffee with my bodum. I didn’t realize it’s really a French Press for a long, long time and Bodum makes them!
Whatever you want to call it this is one heck of a way to make coffee great in a very strong, very flavorful cup of java. Basically it’s pretty easy to use and clean although a little messy at times. It’s got a plunger which has a filter at one end. First you grind the coffee with your burr coffee grinder if you are lucky enough to own one of these little beauties. Grind it kind of coarse or it’s hard to push the plunger down. I usually steep the coffee in the glass jar for about 3-4 minutes ( I like 4 but my wife likes 3 so it depends if she’s around or if I can convince her I really only steeped it for 3 minutes – she’s hard to fool though. Then I push down the plunger and pour the coffee. Tastes fantastic if you like a stronger bodied coffee. Try not to let it go into the dish washer. When I was a bachelor that never happened but now well what can I do. It ruins the flavor. Also watch out that the screws holding the whole metal filter on the plunger doesn't come loose because it's hard to get it back together unless you are some sort of a mechanic.
