Coffee beans Arabica
Coffee beans Arabica
These are the best coffee beans and have the least caffeine compared to other varieties such as the Robusta bean that is often used in Europe and blended with Arabic beans to produce a more powerful flavor that the French and Italians prefer. Sometimes they even brew Robusta straight. We North Americans generally like the less bitter flavor of Arabica. Originally from Arabia – the Yemen Mountains to be more precise – it has likely been grown there for over 1000 years. Whatever bean you prefer – the coffee should be fresh. Supermarket coffee has often sat around on those shelved for a long time – weeks or months before we buy it and those beans are stale. Ugh! Coffee freshly roasted is a delight but the beans quickly lost their flavor when exposed to air and moisture and even light. So those large glass bins where you buy bulk coffee can be some of the worst coffee you’ll ever taste depending on how fast it sells. As well, opening the spout at the bottom and pouring them into a paper bag can compound the problem. The best beans come in sealed bags with little valves that allow the gases to escape and it means they can be put into the bag right after roasting without fear of splitting the bag when the gas builds up inside the bag. Waiting for beans to cool before putting them in a sealed bag or can without valves is a sure way to produce stale and bad tasting beans. Another way to get a fresh cup every time is to try Keurig K-Cup Coffee . No muss no fuss and pretty darn good coffee.
