Coffee health risks? Have we been scammed?
Coffee health risks is something we have become accustomed to hearing in the press and from friends, neighbours and sometimes even our family doctor.
But is this risk overstated? Do we need to forgo the pleasure of a piping hot cup of Java in order to prolong our life? Well it appears not? Coffee has actually got a lot of health benefits but a lot of people are afraid to drink it on a regular basis. However Harvard University’s publication the Harvard Women’s Health Watch assures us the moderate coffee use – a few cups a day is safe and can actually help our health. They point out that coffee may help us avoid gallstones, colon cancer, liver liver disease, and Parkinson's disease. Other studies as we have noted have indicated that we may be able to avoid Altzheimers. They do point out that there are issues with coffee consumption and addiction to caffeine and also irregular and increased heartbeat, and high blood pressure. So if you have heart problems it’s best to consult your doctor before drinking coffee. All in all we coffee lovers seem to be given a free pass to drink our favorite beverage in moderation. Hooray!
