Keurig coffee pods

What are Keurig Coffee Pods. Well actually they are not pods they are k cups!

Keurig K cups are sometimes calls pods but this is not really correct and the people over at Senseo might be mad with us when we use the term because they developed pods for the Senseo one cup coffee makers.

Senseo in my opinion is one of the best looking of the single cup coffee makers. But they do not use K-Cups.

K –cups are not the same thing as pods. They are little plastic cups – they look like over sized plastic cream cups that come with your coffee at restaurants. K-cups have a reputation for making a pretty fine coffee. My wife and I actually reviewed a number of them that came with our Elite coffee brewer.

You can get K-Cups from a lot of companies including Timothy’s, Green Mountain and my favorite Newman’s Own Fair Trade Organic Extra Bold K-cup.

In fact because Keurig leads the market in single cup coffee it is usually easier to get K-Cups and you can get a larger variety of them than competitors like Senseo and Tassimo.

The best thing about all these single cup coffee makers which lead the market for new coffee brewers in not only do they taste great but they do not create a lot of mess like most conventional coffee brewers.

This is because they not only contain the ground coffee beans in a sealed container which keeps them fresh but also they have the filter in the K-Cup, pod or even the T-discs that go in the Tassimo machine.

So if you have a Senseo you use pods, Keurig has it’s K-cup and Tassimo the T-Disc and they are not interchangeable.
